I was recently selected to be part of a team of photographers who were asked to travel Australia capturing the unique imagery of Australian farmers and their farms. The photographs were used in a mouth watering, beautiful cookbook created by the team at Earth Hour Australia. Titled….. “Planet to Plate”.
Planet to Plate uniquely and beautifully incorporates first-hand stories from Australian farmers highlighting the impact global warming is having on their farms and the nation’s availability of fresh, homegrown food.
The Earth Hour Cookbook is also a collection of 52 amazing recipes from Australia’s biggest culinary names. including,
Matt Preston, Neil Perry, Luke Mangan, Kylie Kwong, Guy Grossi, Darren Robertson, Luke Mangan, Colin Fassnidge, James Viles, Jill Dupleix, Miguel Maestre, Margaret Fulton, Dan Hong and Sarah Wilson, to name just some of the Aussie chefs and food personalities who have contributed to the cookbook, providing a selection of recipes using seasonally fresh produce for mouth-watering appetisers, main dishes and desserts.
As a photographer we were tasked with visiting farmers who’s lively hoods were being impacted by global warming. Many are using best practices to ward off the advances the warming globe but for some, it’s a battle they are struggling to keep up with.
Their amazing stories are a feature of the cookbook and featured throughout, as are the 52 delicious recipes.
